LA FONTAINE DESCRIPTION
The 2021 La Fontaine Challenge is aMontreal-based educational initiative that aims to engage the student communityin a reflective process on their individual experience of living through theCovid-19 pandemic. École International J. de La Fontaine is issuing a call toall students in our network and beyond for the submission of entries to anacademic competition in the subjects of English, French, Art, Science andMusic.
Thecompetition is divided by subject and grade cluster as follows:
Thedeadline for student submissions is May 15, 2021. Candidate submissions will beevaluated by a panel of impartial judges and first-place winners in each gradecluster will be awarded prizes of 300$; and 5 runners-up from each gradecluster across all subjects will be awarded 50$ gift certificates redeemablefor lessons at La Fontaine. Each student candidate registered in the competitionwill receive a free trial lesson at our school. Students may submit a maximumof one entry per subject, but may only register for the challenge, once.
The20 first-place winners from across the subjects/grade clusters will qualify for entry into the final roundof the competition, in which student submissions will be judged by the generalpublic. The grand prize winner will be awarded 500$. Public voting for thegrand prize winner will open on June 15, 2021 and close On June 30, 2021.Public voting will be carried out through the J. de La Fontaine website.
